What are clinical trials?

Clinical trials of new medicines and drug formulations are essential for the development of new and better drugs, with the aim of improving the lives of all those who require treatment. If people did not volunteer to take part in clinical trials, this valuable research would not be possible.

Clinical trials are necessary in order to discover new treatments for GPs to prescribe.

CPS Research has been recruiting patients for clinical trials since 1988.

Some trials require patients to be recruited only through our GP’s and these are not listed here. However, some patients are recruited through various advertising methods, such as:

  • Local press
  • TV
  • Radio
  • Leaflets and posters
  • Social media (Facebook & twitter)
  • Our Patient Register

If you would like to be included on our register to be notified of appropriate new trials, please contact us and we will arrange for your details to be added.
