Melatonin in Alzheimer's Disease Project
Alzheimer's Disease Study Melatonin is the body's natural sleep hormone but people with Alzheimer's Disease have low levels of melatonin. Our Alzheimer's Disease Study is designed to find out if the addition of CircadinR a special slow release formulation of melatonin can help people living with Alzheimer's disease. This study does NOT interfere with any other treatments - in fact all participants need to already be on treatment for Alzheimer's Disease. Is it Safe? CircadinR is already on the market. It is a tried and tested drug that has been used throughout Europe since 2006. Melatonin has no known side effects. Will it help my Alzheimer's Disease? We hope so and that is why the study is being done. Some patients have greatly benefited from participation in the study. Can I take part? If you have a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and are receiving treatment then you may be eligible. Will my doctor be informed? Yes. Your doctor will be asked to confirm your medical history before you can take part. What do I have to do?
